“Don't ever give up.
Don't ever give in.
Don't ever stop trying.
Don't ever sell out.
And if you find yourself succumbing to one of the above for a brief moment,
pick yourself up, brush yourself off, whisper a prayer, and start where you left off.
But never, ever, ever give up.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich

Gift of artists everywhere,
made of soft, young pony hair,
sometimes I stop and stare,
a what this brush can declare.

From the story of a lake,
to a young man's ache,
no matter the stake,
this brush captures it all.

I raise my hand,
and in a second I have the land,
upon my canvas, and,
my memories forever.

Oh paintbrush, all you require,
a gentle hand that does not tire,
some simple paint for the spire,
and then, you smile,

and willingly follow my design,
not showing a slight decline,
and then you capture detail so fine,
from a single hair to golden twine.

Thankyou paintbrush, for your service,
never being nervous,
not showing disservice,
thankyou so much.

However, the cross words we exchange!
Some to make one cringe,
some simply strange,
often just simple.
