“Don't ever give up.
Don't ever give in.
Don't ever stop trying.
Don't ever sell out.
And if you find yourself succumbing to one of the above for a brief moment,
pick yourself up, brush yourself off, whisper a prayer, and start where you left off.
But never, ever, ever give up.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich

A collection of Survival Techniques, gleaned from the DVDs of Bear Grylls
Hello all. This is a collection of Survival Techniques, from the DVDs of Bear Grylls.
     Here is the first one...

     OBSIDION: THE SHARPEST ROCK

Please excuse the simple title. But, basically, if you can find Obsidian, it is useful for cutting, scraping, etc. Pretty much anything a knife can do. The Native Americans used to trade in them for use in spearheads! Obsidian is black, has a texture like glass, and is crazy sharp.

PINE NEEDLE TEA: VITAMIN C OVERLOAD

Pine needles... who'da thought that little things that grow on Pine Trees could be so nutritious? Turns out, pine needles contain as much as 8 TIMES more than oranges! Pine needles can be eaten as they are, or made into a delicious tea. How? Put a small branch of pine needles into some water, and boil the water. Simple!

PINE NUTS: HOW TO GET 'EM

Also from the pine tree, comes the slightly bitter nut, the pine nut. You may be wondering 'how?' because you have never seen nuts on a pine tree. But the answer is in the cones! No, not in the ones that drop from the tree. They've already lost all their nuts. But they are the in young, green ones ON the tree! Simply retrieve the cone by throwing rocks at it(hard, I know) and then peel away the 'leaves' and you will find small white nuts! Let's eat!
